MPC R&D will be attending SIGGRAPH 2019 in Los Angeles from 28 July – 1 August with talks and appearances, giving an in depth look at the world of visual effects. Notably, MPC had 2 technical papers accepted and will be expanding on these findings.

Highlighting MPC’s work on The Lion King, MPC R&D Principal Architect Rob Pieke will host a course looking at the use of path tracing in production in “Everything the Light Touches – Rendering The Lion King.” Kai Wolter, Head of Production Technology, London will offer a look into how the Environments team expanded their approach to the designing of natural elements in the talk “DMP Without DMP Full-CG Environments for The Lion King.”

Realtime Software Architect Francesco Giordana will be presenting about Genesis, Technicolor’s virtual production platform at the Nvidia Innovation Theater Booth focusing on the improvement of real-time graphics and lighting. In addition, Francesco Giordana will be representing MPC Film on the panel “Real-time Technologies for Film Pipelines” at The Pipeline Conference on 28 July, discussing pipeline experiences, knowledge and best practices.

The Focus will be hosting their own booth at the SIGGRAPH Job Fair Booth no. 5/6 at Los Angeles Convention Center. The booth is available 30-31 July during the recruitment exhibition, although SIGGRAPH runs 28 July – 1 August. In addition to this, Talent Acquisition Manager Sylvie Tehbelian will be hosting the talk “Preparing Students to Take the Next Steps: School to Work Transition.”
