In 1872 London, English gentleman, Phileas Fogg, takes an ambitious bet to go around the world in 80 days. An international production, Around the World in 80 Days was produced by Slim Film + Television (UK) and Federation Entertainment (FR), as well as the European Alliance formed by France Télévisions, ZDF (Germany) and RAI (Italy), and several production companies based around the world.
For directors Steve Barron, Charles Beeson and Brian Kelly, the driving force for the visual effects was an accurate reflection of the historical period across worldwide locations. Starting with sequences that took place in England, where the environments were digitally recreated to achieve authenticity, from city skylines to the English Channel.
